Significant progress was made this week on the front suspension rebuild. All of the cleaning, refinishing, and refurbishing of the old suspension components was completed, and the front suspension was reassembled. (See below for before and after pictures.) The major chore for this week was getting the inspection marks sorted out (proper color, location, etc). The extra work was worth it as these marks add a lot to the appearance of the finished suspension. With the front squared away, the attention will now shift to the rear suspension and brake system. The rear suspension was rebuilt about 6 months ago and so is in good shape mechanically speaking. All that remains is to rebuild the old leaf spring and make sure all of the components have the proper finish. For the brake system, all of the metal lines and flex hoses will be replaced.
